Valerie Haynes is a writer, editor, political scientist, and passionate defender of animals and the Earth, who, for many years investigated the corridors of Washington DC and the back alleys of Georgetown... during which time she happened upon waaaay too many interesting stories.

 

Haynes began her writing career on the professional staff of the US Congress, as a staff writer for the House Armed Services Committee. Later, to support her own writing projects, she became a freelance writer and editor, specializing in science and natural health.

 

Doctor Goldbunny is Haynes’ first novel. She began the trilogy in the 1980s when she lived in Washington. She is also the author of the nonfiction book, Creative Provinces, A New World of Enchanting and Empowered Communities. www.creativeprovinces.com

Haynes now lives in upstate New York where she founded a small publishing cooperative, Illume Writers and Artists, to assist her friends with publishing their works. Her other interests include organic gardening, cats, wildlife, and studying ancient science and philosophy.
